Mr. Sotorp and Mr. Janis, having worked as colleagues at Manulife Asset Management, co-founded Agile in 2024. Collectively, they currently make up the firm’s Board of Directors and Operating Committee. Kai also serves on the Risk Committee and Investment Policy Committee of the firm.

As CEO Mr. Sotorp is responsible for all non-investment functions at Agile Investment Management.

Mr. Sotorp has served in senior leadership roles for much of his 35 year career in investment management. Most recently, he was executive vice president, global head of wealth and investment management at Manulife and president and CEO of Manulife Asset Management, and a member of Manulife’s executive and management committees. He was responsible for all aspects of the business, across America, Europe, and Asia, and a broad range of public and private asset classes.

Mr. Sotorp has extensive non-executive board experience with real estate investment trusts, timber and agriculture investments, private equity, hedge funds, and mutual fund platforms, based in the US, Canada, Brazil, UK, Luxembourg, Ireland, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, and Australia, respectively.

Mr. Sotorp previously worked at UBS Global Asset Management for 14 years. His last role was as Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific, UBS Group Managing Director and a member of UBS Global Asset Management’s Executive Committee. Prior to that he was CEO Americas and member of UBS’ Group Managing Board. Prior to that he was CEO of Asia Pacific based in Tokyo, Japan. Prior to that he was President of UBS Global Asset Management (Japan).

Prior to UBS, Mr. Sotorp was with American international Group and Kemper Financial Services, responsible for international development and joint ventures.

Mr. Sotorp is fluent in English, German, Norwegian and conversant in Japanese and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSBA, Magna Cum Laude, from Boston University
